If the self-diagnosis system of the Bosch washing machine showed an error F17 on the display, you need to proceed to decrypt it. Outwardly, the malfunction is expressed as follows: you turned on the washer, started the program, but do not hear the sound of water dialing.
Electronic models show error F17 on the display.
On models without a screen, the 800 or 1000 rpm lights are flashing (lit) + the Rinse lamp.
Causes and solutions to the problem
If the error code F 17 is lit on the display of the Bosch washing machine, this means that the time for filling the tank has been exceeded. The malfunction code can be displayed both at the beginning of the wash cycle and before rinsing.
Note! For some Bosch washing machines, error F17 is indicated as code E17.
What does the error mean, you figured out - now you need to understand how to fix it. To do this, we will examine the causes of the appearance:
- The feed tap is blocked (or not fully open). As a result, the water either does not enter the tank at all, or the pressure is too small (less than 1 atm.), So there is time to set. Check valve, unscrew it completely. If everything worked out, and the error was reset, then you found the reason.
- Clogged filter or water supply hose. The filter mesh is located at the junction of the hose with the Bosch machine. Disconnect and rinse the hose, then remove and clean the filter.
- Failure of the electronic controller. When this happens, you need to restart SM Bosch, completely de-energize for 20 minutes, and then turn it on. Error F17 is gone - the problem is resolved.

Fault location
Your Bosch washing machine generates an F17 error, water does not collect, and all filters and hoses are checked. Proceed to inspect the inside of the washer.
What could cause a trouble code:
Inlet valve
Before checking the valve, turn off the water supply and disconnect the machine from electricity.
- Disconnect hoses from inlet valves. Prepare a container for draining water.
- Remove the top panel by unscrewing the two screws.
- Disconnect the connectors from the valve coil.
- Remove the clamps and disconnect the hoses.
- Loosen the lock screw and remove the valve.
- Inspect it for damage or blockage.
- Installation of the part takes place in the reverse order.
If after replacing the valve it was possible to solve the problem and remove the error code F 17, then everything succeeded.
What to do otherwise - read on.
Pressure sensor (pressure switch)
The pressure sensor monitors the amount of water in the tank, after which it sends data to the control module, and it starts the washing program. When the pressure switch fails, it either gives the wrong indicators, or does not work at all.
How to fix a breakdown:
It is useless to repair the pressure switch, so immediately replace it if it breaks. A video on the topic will help you:
Control module
As mentioned above, the control unit gives commands to start washing, rinsing or spinning. In case of moisture or voltage drops, the module elements may fail. Each element is responsible for a specific part in the Bosch washer and gives them a start signal.
Inspect the control board for repair. To repair the contacts, a solder will be needed, and the burned-out elements will have to be replaced. Additionally inspect the wiring from the unit to the pressure switch and inlet valve.
If insulation is broken, replace the damaged wire. Sometimes it may be necessary to completely replace the control board.
